If you are writing a book and concern about finishing it beautifully, there are 5 things I want to advise you to do if you want to finish your book.
1. Determine the value of your book. Your book can be used for a business card or for lead generating, can be used for generating speaking engagements. Much better than advertising. Can sell it or give it away, regardless can be used for generating big revenue. Take action. Tackle the title, content, topic. What do I want to accomplish with the book.
2. What exactly to write about. Where do you begin? Be an inch wide and a mile deep. Be as specific as possible, and spill your guts on it. Focus is on you and you give your reader something that they can take away with them. Establish your expertise in the area. Think about the questions that your clients may ask. think about and listen to the questions then answer them. People will want to get the answers to their questions in your book. Look in the sent email folder. Can pull info from there. Write what people want you to write about. Write something that has a marketable idea.
3. What about the book's format? Short and powerful book. Short on content, but long on power. Can be written in a weekend, published in a couple of days. book is 6x6, use the book as a big business card. Quote book, have a quote, an action step and then a space for notes. Good for people that want to get things done in a hurry. Good for giving away at a business event or something like that. Crystalize the message and get it started working for you. these small books are actually read. Quote books are taken on the plane to the beach etc. these books are actually read. Story telling to illustrate a business principles.
4. What about the time it takes to write the book? Set aside 5-10 minutes or 5 pages a day to complete the book. You can stop or continue as the mood strikes.
5. Getting the book published. Do it yourself. It'll take too long to get the book published with a traditional publisher anyway. Rich Dad poor dad was self published first.
Ultimately, there's only one way to finish your book: Just do it
And now, I'd like to invite you to my website http://www.rafaelmarquez.me/ where I write about communication skills, social media and online advertising.
