Everybody expects to have a nice time during their holidays. Most people that go for b & b are on a budget and do not really care about amenities, they just want a comfortable bed and a bathroom with warm water. However, things can go wrong during your holiday and if you need to spend a lot of time in the place you may discover it was not the right choice for your holidays.
What would happen if it rained during your whole stay at the bed and breakfast? Obviously, even if it rains during a holiday, you still want to make the most of it. In most bed and breakfasts you will not find a television set, and if you do, you will have to share it with the rest of the guests. For the same price that you pay for a bed and breakfast you can stay at a cheap hotel. Most hotels count with T.V. sets on every room, they have a bar, and they offer games in case you need to stay at the hotel due to rainy weather. Cheap hotels are definitely better than bed and breakfasts in this regard.
The most common complaint about bed and breakfasts is that they are not worth the price. In fact in some bed and breakfasts, they advertise special offers but when you get there those offers are not available anymore, and you end up paying a lot of money for just a simple bed, and breakfast.
If you do find a b & b that is cheap enough to actually save you some money, you are probably in for a big disappointment. When a b & b is too cheap, it most probably is a dirty and smelly place, which does not even provide housekeeping service for your room.
Location is everything, especially when you are visiting a place you do not know. So if a bed and breakfast is too cheap, be suspicious, it is probably located in bad neighborhood, and far from all the main tourist attractions. You do not want to be stuck in a place like this; that is for sure.
In addition, all the money that you will have saved on the lodging will be spent on taxi fares to get to downtown and to restaurants. Be smart, search the web, look for hotel deals, check locations before booking accommodation, read tourists reviews, and definitely stay away from bed and breakfasts if you do not want to ruin your holidays.
