Town info- The mini town of Knighton, Powys with its estimated population of 3901 inhabitants, lies lazily on the River Teme in Wales, United Kingdom. Events- The towns' annual Carnival and Show is held the last Saturday in August at Bryn-y-Castle, attracting thousands of visitors from far and wide consisting of parades with different themed floats. The second, annual Serendipity Festival takes place during the month of July with a wonderful series of activities and events celebrating the town and its people.
Worship- The town has an extensive selection of churches to choose from including St. Edwards Church, Baptist Church, Knighton Roman Catholic Church and Knighton Methodist Church.
Tourist attractions- The remains of two castle mottes are visible at Bryn-y-Castell and behind the towns' fire station.
Market days- A Farmers Market is held on second and forth Saturday of every month at the town's community centre with a selection of only the freshest and tastiest produce to pick and choose from to your hearts' delight. A Livestock Market is also held every Thursday.
Transport- The area is serviced by rather limited rail, road and air transport systems. Although located on the banks of the River Teme its high reaches are not navigable which is extremely unfortunate.
Climate- Knighton's climate is slightly warmer and drier than the national average when considering its average Summer highs of 15 to 20 Degrees Celsius and lows between 6 and 10 Degrees Celsius. Winter minimum temperatures range from 0. 2 to 3. 1 Degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures from 6 to 10 Degrees Celsius.
