Renaissance of Arabs as the one started in Europe in the sixteenth century, or in Japan after the WWII,  is doubtful hope under present situation. Arabs in fact, may need something drastically different in spirit, shape and form. A unique  renaissance unlike both, taking consideration of the nature of Arab and Muslim nations spiritually, culturally and politically.

I believe that in society, to make change, we should not discuss only theories of change, but to include results given of the prospected change. Applying this statement to the Arab nations, calls for change were vast in number, the discussed theories of change, development, history, and progress in the social, economic, political and cultural spheres. The dominant failure was lack of sponsorship to give results when the are seriously needed.

What is needed is a manifested  reform of several areas to make a specially distinguished from other renaissance is to  begin with working on policies and projects to regain Arab dignity and identity, in addition to the basic principles of  freedom, liberty and renovation of social, political and economic reforms. Each will involve constitutional human rights, and moral grounds for equality, justice and free well.

In the last fifty years or so, two approaches were in the field of reformation. One was the nationalist Arabism, and one was the Islamist movement. The two approaches failed to create reformation of the new renaissance. Signs of such renaissance, seems to be found in some areas of the Arab and Muslim nations in the past few decades, In East Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia and Pakistan may be represent a model of making  change, with less perfection of a renaissance similar to the one accomplished in Europe.  Turkey is another example of giving results of change. However, in the Arab nations, elements of rapid change toward renaissance can be observed in the tiny state of Dubai. Much of the elements of European Renaissance in Italy, France, Germany and England may be tracked in the recent history of the United Arab Emirates in general and Dubai Emirate in particular. Such elements led to the Renaissance of Europe, why not in Dubai as a spearhead toward future Renaissance. ( 379 words). www.askdryahya.com
